Dissatisfaction over corruption in govt, Sena’s ideology compromised: Rebel MLAs pass resolution

Rebel Shiv Sena MLAs passed a “Resolution of the Meeting of Shiv Sena Maharashtra Legislative Assembly 2019-2024” on Wednesday, June 22. The resolution, which has the signature of 34 MLAs, stated:

* Dissatisfaction about prevailing corruption in government, referring to former home minister Anil Deshmukh (who is in jail) and Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik (who is also in jail for involvement with underworld don Dawood Ibrahim).

* Party cadres face harassment and distress on political and personal grounds from opposition ideological parties (Congress, NCP).

* There has been compromise on the principles of Shiv Sena by aligning with the contrasting ideologies for the sake of achieving power.

* Act of defying verdict and going with Congress and NCP in 2019 had negative impact on voters and party cadres. Despite this, the party leadership ignored hue and cry of cadres.

* We decide to reaffirm and resolve that Eknath Shinde, who was appointed as a leader of Sena legislative party continue to be leader of Maharashtra Shiv Sena legislature party. And Bharat Gogavale replace Sunil Prabhu as chief whip of Shiv Sena legislative party.
