“Test them with fever, sore throat for Covid”: Center for States

India is once again witnessing an increase in Covid cases.

New Delhi:

Anyone with fever, headache, sore throat, shortness of breath, body aches, loss of taste or smell, fatigue and diarrhea should be considered a suspected case of Covid and should be tested, the center said today, amid a panic of over a third. wave and an increase in cases believed to be driven by the Omicron variant.

The new variant, which has brought worldwide curbs back, is said to be “highly contagious” – however, the majority of cases have been reported to be mild.

All those with symptoms should “immediately isolate themselves and follow guidelines for home isolation,” the central government has said.

A jump in daily infections in the country – especially in big cities – has sparked new concern, months after the health care system bowed under pressure from the second Covid wave.

India has registered over 1,200 Omicron cases so far – a large number of which have been reported from Maharashtra and Delhi. The country today recorded 16,764 cases – the highest daily increase in several weeks.
