iQoo 9, iQoo 9 Pro tipped for large OLED screens, launch expected soon

The iQoo 9 and iQoo 9 Pro display specifications have been tipped ahead of all official announcements regarding smartphones from the Vivo sub-brand. iQoo 9 Pro is said to have a large OLED screen with a Quad-HD resolution and curved edges. Meanwhile, the iQoo 9 could come with an OLED screen of the same dimensions, but with a full-HD + resolution instead. iQoo unveiled previous plans to launch a smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, and the iQoo 9 series is expected to be launched in early 2022.

Details regarding iQoo 9 and iQoo 9 Pro screens were shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. Both iQoo 9 and the iQoo 9 Pro is tipped to play 6.78-inch E5 OLED screens developed by Samsung. However, the IQoo 9 is said to have a 6.78-inch full HD + resolution with a flat screen, while the iQoo 9 Pro comes with a Quad-HD resolution and curved edges, according to the tipper. While the refresh rate of the iQoo 9 and iQoo 9 Pro has not been mentioned, their predecessors are iQoo 8 and iQoo 8 Pro both had 120Hz screens.

The iQoo 9 series is expected to offer upgrades over the iQoo 8 series, which was launched in August in China and is likely to have 4,700 mAh batteries, according to reports. Previous reports suggest that the vanilla iQoo 9 variant could be included game-oriented features, including pressure-sensitive shoulder buttons on both sides along with two x-axis linear motors for haptic feedback.

The advanced iQoo 9 Pro is tippet to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, as the company had previously announced plans to launch a smartphone with Snapdragon’s most powerful chipset to date. It’s still unknown if the iQoo 9 will have the same chipset as the high-end variant. iQoo has not yet announced any details about the iQoo 9 series, including specifications or a scheduled launch date. However, earlier reports suggests that the company could launch the iQoo 9 series in early February next year.
