kohli: Virat vs BCCI: We take care of it, says Ganguly | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: On Thursday, Sourav Ganguly chose not to add fuel to the fire after Virat Kohli denied BCCI the boss’s claim that he had asked him to stay as T20 captain. “No statements, no press conference. We will deal with it, leave it to (BCCI),” Ganguly said.
Meanwhile, former captain Sunil Gavaskar said he felt Kohli should have formulated his statement in which he asked to resign from the T20 captaincy differently and said he “would be available” to lead in ODIs and tests if voters wanted him to do so.
Kohli & Co lands in SA for three-match test series
The Indian cricket team, led by the skipper Virat Kohli, landed here on Thursday for the three-match test series against South Africa, starting on December 26 in Centurion. “Touchdown South Africa,” BCCI wrote on its official Twitter handle, along with photos of team members, including test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara, Shardul Thakur and Shreyas Iyer among others. The Kohli-led test site had traveled from Mumbai for the trip, which also includes three ODIs in January.
Due to the threat from the new Covid-19 variant Omicron, the tour’s T20 matches have been postponed for now.
