LAKHIMPUR KHERI: Minister of the Interior Ajay Kumar Mishra ‘Teni’ lost his temper on Wednesday and threw assault on a journalist when he was asked about charges against his son Ashish, who is in prison in connection with Lakhimpur Kheri incident that took place on October 3rd.
In a video of the minister attending an event in his constituency here in the north center Uttar Pradesh, is seen losing heart and can be heard saying that media people “are thieves” who make “false allegations” which lead to arrests of “innocent people.”
A visibly annoyed minister was also seen trying to hit the journalist but is being stopped by people around him.

Especially the one Special investigation team (SIT), which is investigating the case on Tuesday, described the Lakhimpur violence that led to the deaths of eight people as a “pre-planned conspiracy”.
Local farmers had blamed Ajay Kumar Mishra ‘Teni’ and his son Ashish for the violence that cost four farmers and a local journalist their lives during a farmer protest. They were allegedly mowed down by a vehicle that was part of the minister’s convoy in Lakhimpur Kheri. Videos were circulated on social media where and Mahindra Thar were seen toppling protesters from behind.
The minister and his son have denied the allegations.
Ashish Mishra and several others have been charged with murder.
The development comes as opposition leaders shout for the dismissal of the minister from his post due to the violence.
