Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took to Twitter to offer his thoughts on By David Warner six by Mohammad Hafeez during Australia’s five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the World Cup T20 semi-finals in Dubai on Thursday. Ashwin’s comments came after former India starter Gautam Gambhir mentioned the “spirit of the game” debate in a tweet on Thursday. “What an absolutely pathetic display of the spirit of the game by Warner! #Shameful What do you say @ ashwinravi99?” Gambhir tweeted Thursday after Warner took advantage of Hafeez’s double-rebound error and hit a six.

Ashwin responded to the tweet, saying, “Your point is that if this is okay, that was okay. If that was wrong, this is wrong too. Fair evaluation?”
His point is that if this is correct, it is correct. If that was wrong, this is also wrong. Fair evaluation? @plalor

Ashwin was referring to the criticism he faced for firing Jos Buttler to ‘Mankading’ in an IPL match in 2019.
“Warner just played the ball in front of him, he didn’t do anything wrong,” a Twitter user replied to Ashwin’s tweet.
