NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra modi on Saturday he strongly condemned the attack on Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur and said his sacrifice will never be forgotten.
“I strongly condemn the attack on the Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur. I pay tribute to the soldiers and family members who have been martyred today. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten,” Prime Minister Modi wrote on Twitter.
“My thoughts are with the grieving families in this hour of sadness,” he said.

Minister of Defense Rajnath singh He also expressed his anguish over the convoy attack and stated that the perpetrators will be brought to justice shortly.
“The cowardly attack on a convoy of Assam Rifles in Churachandpur, Manipur, is extremely painful and reprehensible. The nation has lost five brave soldiers, including the CO 46 AR and two family members. My condolences to the bereaved families,” Rajnath said.
46 Assam Rifles Commander Colonel Viplav Tripathi, his wife and son and four members of the paramilitary forces were killed on Saturday after terrorists ambushed their convoy in Manipur’s Churachandpur district.
The Manipur terrorist group, the People’s Liberation Army, is suspected of being behind the attack on Assam’s 46-rifle convoy.
Condemning the ‘cowardly attack’, Manipur’s Chief Minister N Biren Singh said: “State forces and paramilitaries are already at work to track down the militants. The perpetrators will be brought to justice.”
